Speedway Effect

If you live in Ohio, Michigan or Indiana, you'll often see overnight spikes in gas prices of 20, 30 or even 40 cents in the price. That will soon follow with a decrease of a cent or two over a longer period of time. Why? SpeedwayAmerica gas stations.

See the carts on this page and you'll see it in action. The biggest spikes in gas prices are in states and cities with the most Speedway stations.

I worked at a Speedway station for the last year and noticed many things, this was one of them. Also, you might notice when there is a big spike in the price, ALL station will post the same inflated price. As the price starts to come down, only then will you see any competition in price and then only a few cents.

So, if the price is the same, buy anywhere other than a Speedway station. Never purchase other items there until they stop this practice. Let Speedway know your feelings.

And then sets Get-Go's price accordingly.

Maybe Sheetz is getting their prices from Speedway, but that is what he says he was told to do.

There is not colusion. It just looks that way. NOT!
