Here's how I would punish Tsarnaev

I would apply the punishment I would want applied if the bomber turned out to be the person I first thought it was.

A simple search would reveal scores (if not hundreds) of posts speculating/asserting/insisting that it was RW gun nuts and/or Tea Partiers and/or the ilk. Because, of course, that's who they wanted it to be.

So, just assume you were right, if indeed your first thought was that it was actually a RWer, then apply the punishment you'd want under that circumstance.

Supermax is where I end up, and that is being generous.

At first I didn't get the connection between speculative posts on a message board and the punishment for Tsarnaev.

But I think the OP is mad that some people, somewhere on the interwebz, said the bomber could have been a Tea Party member.

Truly one of the most ridiculous OP's I've ever read.

the bombing was gruesome, but wasn't too impressed by this display of schaudenfraude/yellow journalism/whatever technical term best fits.

if it had been a Tea Partier right winger, I'd say the same.

Not clutching pearls over the super max being "torture" as in solitary is "psychological torture."

lump noisy people with multiple posts on the same subject as "they," meaning the great majority of DU.

That--the assumption of RW/Tea Party--was something that I never discussed or even thought about in the horrific aftermath. Then again, I admit in those days, I was concerned with a far larger corporate-caused tragedy here in Texas that just doesn't seem to tug as much on people's heartstrings and patriotic penchant for silly, explosive posts.

That said, Life in prison, not Supermax.

Because I don't go all crazy over these things.

On edit: In case people's minds need refreshing (as I am positive they do because "Boston&quot : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Fertilizer_Company_explosion

I need society protected from people like him until they aren't like him anymore.

I'm not sure punishment promotes that sort of transition.
