That was out of this world brilliant. He's speaking at the end of the Summit right now on CNN.
He tore them a new one re the latest attack by McGramps on John Kerry and Iran 'spin' that bomb bomb bomb and select Palin gramps spewed recently - it's got to stop says the President

(26,260 posts)But I'll tell you, his ringing support of John Kerry was wonderful. McCain should know better - I'm beginning to wonder if his "senior moments" are becoming a consistent behavior pattern. He needs to retire but, obviously, that's not going to happen unless he gets voted out.
And, yes, I still harbor fantasies of another Kerry campaign.

(22,651 posts)A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day. 'Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.' Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.

"Now that we've reached this historical achievement, I have assigned our remarkable Secretary of State, John Kerry, to apply his considerable diplomatic skills to the biggest, most dangerous threat to our country, one that has reared its ugly head, and even grown, during the last six years -- the Republican Party. I recognize that this challenge is more difficult, insidious, and pervasive than any other we have faced, including finding and killing Osama Bin Laden, (which my administration accomplished, by the way.) But with skill and determination, we can do it. Yes, we can. After all, no challenge is too great for America."
