(33,688 posts)Losing a furfriend is one of the hardest things in life. They live just long enough to break our hearts when they leave us.

(904 posts)Know what it's like to lose a furry kid, they give unconditional love and when they're no longer there it breaks your heart. Sounds like Budward had a happy life and I hope when the time is right you adopt another.

(23,867 posts)It's such a difficult experience. But wagging.
I'll always remember that Farnsworth the huge specialty cat hunted a gofer just days before he died.
Gosh, I find it so hard to handle. There is mystery. We don't know everything. What counts is loving while we can.

Take as much time to grieve as you need.

(16,926 posts)I told a co-worker that it was like losing a child, then acknowledged that was probably a stretch for him since he actually has kids. He said he completely understood and that he'd been bawling like a baby when he took his old lab in to be put down just one week prior. These critters have a powerful hold on the human heart.
My condolences to you, elehhhhna.
