...except for the cases of extreme high and low latitudes.

The moon is 180 degrees opposite the sun when full, so it rises when the sun sets and sets as the sun rises.

mixture of haze and smoke from the brush fires, probably.

It seemed a little brighter than normal but that could be partly because I'm used to city moons and it seems brighter out here in the booneys? Southeastern Ohio.

Pretty sure I've seen super-er.

Still, hey, free supermoon, can't beat that.

Then it hit the clouds, in Albuquerque.
Hope there is rain but I doubt it. Just a mud rain: sandstorm with 12" rain (between the drops) and voila! Little mud spots all over.

The light from the big moon and billions of stars illuminates the desert as brightly as the sun's first morning light.

Was in Florida a few years ago with my folks, and my nightly exercise was to walk along beachfront, at which time I began seriously to appreciate its beauty.
