Ive ridden one before. One huge advantage is knowing how to ride a 'normal' bike. I suspect if you have never ridden any bike learning how to ride a penny farthing would be much more difficult.

I've been ridding bicycles for almost sixty year. My latest build is a fixed gear, and it's the most punishing rides I've even experienced. I decided I'll leave the actual riding of the track bikes to the young bucks, and just stick to building them.

I only rode it a fee hundred feet on flat ground. I would imagine hills would not be fun.
