(15,001 posts)there are, after all, businesses that fail and have to close. Few of them (other than Enron & the like) are run by wealthy people.

(15,805 posts)Poor folks, and as a senior living on a fixed income, I'm one of 'em, hire lots of workers. Just yesterday I had to hire a plumber, at a princely sum, I might add, and I paid for him and his helper to work most of the day. The dog groomer and my vet work for me everytime I bring in my furbabies.
In fact, everytime I go shopping and support my local stores, my money keeps them, and their own employees, working. I hired a neighbor's boy to mow the lawn every week, and he's happy to have a little money for working for me. When I hired the tree trimming service, they never asked if I was rich or poor, but they thanked me for the business just the same.

(39,909 posts)A RICH man has never "given" me a job.
I have worked FOR some rich men, but we always had a deal.
I MADE MONEY FOR THEM.
If I lost money or wasn't worth what they paid me, I expected to be fired.
Rich people did not get rich by being stupid.
They do NOT give away jobs,
or hire people they do NOT need.
They got rich through the labor of others.

(2,741 posts)Really rich people, such as Randy Paul, do not concern themselves with poor people.

(57,936 posts)people. So, yes. I used to work for not just a poor person, but for poor people.
So did my Dad at times in his life. He was a pastor and a social worker. He worked for poor people.
