In final speech, Snowe urges party to defeat Obama

In her 18th and final address to a state Republican convention, Sen. Olympia Snowe said today the party must stick together to defeat President Obama in November.

“I hope you are ready to pull out all the stops as Barack Obama goes into the history books as a one-term president,” she said.

She blamed Obama for the deep national debt and described the economic recovery under Obama as anemic.

“This is the worst post-recession recovery in the history of our country,” she said. “We are a great nation and it's time we started acting like one.”

Wonder if she knows that Bush had the worst job-creation record ever, started an illegal war and gave hundreds of millions in tax cuts to the rich, damaging the economy and running up the debt?

And not much else. She's retiring because she's a moderate repub swimming in and amongst ultra-hard right sharks. What has she got to loose? After that speech she's likely headed back to the big house on Cape Elizabeth.
