Rand Paul Lauds Koch Brothers In Time’s 100 Most Influential List
Rand Paul certainly has a Koch problem. That, or he is completely delusional. Or both. While candidates like Hillary Clinton are advocating for a Constitutional Amendment to get big money out of politics, Paul is lauding it in Times coveted 100 most influential people list. He was tasked with writing about Charles and David Koch.
According to Rand Paul:
Charles and David Koch are well known for their business success, their generous philanthropic efforts and for their focus on innovation in management. Some also know them for their activism in the political realm. All of these are important contributions to society. What is underappreciated is their passion for freedom and their commitment to ideas. Unlike many crony capitalists who troll the halls of Congress looking for favors, the Kochs have consistently lobbied against special-interest politics.
If you want to find two perfect examples of crony capitalists who troll the halls of Congress looking for favors, look no further than the Koch Brothers. The New Yorker reported that one of the biggest reasons why actions to combat climate change have been stagnant is because of a No Climate Tax sponsored by the Koch Brothers ultra-Libertarian organization, Americans for Prosperity. The pledge has been signed by, so far, over 450 federal and state politicians (including Rand Paul). Almost every signatory is a Republican. You want to talk about trolling the halls of Congress for favors?
the sentence i underlined made me gasp for air:
