not sure if I agree with it or not. the warnings already are not heeded in some situations due to their frequency (just about any rotating storm generates an alert). this might lead to 'the boy who cried wolf' syndrome...which I can only see as leading to more loss of life.

Severe Thunderstorm Warnings. I think that is a mistake. I have my weather radio, and can watch the current radar. I use that as a guide, rather than the sirens.

Stay safe, fellow DUer. Unfortunately, storm season here in D/FW isn't going to end for another 4-5 weeks so we're not out of the woods yet.
