A Des Moines, Washington city councilwoman and former King County Superior Court judge was caught on camera assaulting a 6-year-old special needs student. Jeanette Burrage, who works as a bus driver for the Highline School District, faces charges of 4th degree assault after video showing her slapping the child’s face.

According to King County Sheriff’s Sgt. B.J. Myers, on March 10 police received a call about a disturbance on the bus. Upon their review of footage from the day, school officials witnessed the councilwoman slap the child, who is autistic, as he stood on a seat of the bus .

QFOX13 reports that Burrage has been driving buses for Highline Transportation since 2011. According to a district spokesperson, they have begun the process of terminating Councilwoman Burrage....

A quick glance at Burrage’s Facebook page reveals her to be a strong conservative — the party of family values, the one that constantly harps on about the importance of children — repugnant and hateful posts about Muslims included:

anything to do with her outrageous behavior.

Unfortunately there are nasty and hypocritical people on both sides of the aisle.
