Start the video at 10:00 minutes (they go off-air), unless you want to listen to dipshit spew while they are on-air - at 18 minutes it starts getting pretty good too "All about mormon"
The off air is where he starts getting pissy.. Pissy Mitty
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney appears in this video as he sat down with an Iowa radio talk show host when an "intense" conversation ensued. Mr. Romney has claimed (with Katie Couric) that he'd unwittingly been captured on hidden camera. There were in fact two camcorders in plain site, both on tripods.

(81,852 posts)It was interesting to see the difference between the scripted Romney and the real guy. He has opinions, but is too afraid to offend anyone. He's a panderer.

(55,745 posts)The guy's a world class asshole. He got very testy when "accused" of "distancing himself from his faith."
Thanks for the video proof, snooper2!

(37,726 posts)Any show with Mitt on it, becomes the Bozo show, the minute the camera lens comes into focus, on Mitt's made up mug.
I don't think Mittens the Clown is just playing a clown, I think he are one! Prince deer in the headlights.
pRsident in waiting Mitt reminds me so much of pResident in waiting Bush, back in 2000. A lot of words flow from him and no matter how many words he belches out, very few, if any, make a lick of sense.
Two pumped up parasite flunkies,(W & mitt)who's dads had some dough to buy their sons way through life. The two super GOPer Bozos never needed to be anything other than clowns. When it's 3:00 AM and there's a probability, of incoming nukes, would you want Bozo in the oval office directing the show?

(114,904 posts)Mitt (Liar) Rmoney has a short fuse. Could be useful to exploit that during the debates. Mitt stuttering in frustration and anger vs the cool as a cucumber prez.
The anger is what is strange - and the ability to hear what the other guy is saying. Romney is answering what he THINKS the question is - which is how church dictates and the laws he would propose interact - and the answer is really no different than the famous Cuomo response that every Catholic Democrat has used. The question is not about that, but about the fact that he is not relating how his faith informs his life. Almost the OPPOSITE side of the faith in a secular country question.
The anger really is amazing as this was a guy clearly on his side, who politely raised the question, almost tentatively, when they were not on the air.

(110,159 posts)i think the other guy wasnt getting what romney was saying.
if he is suppose to govern by his religion, no booze for all of us. he is saying, he is anti abortion personally, and not about religion. what he is saying, is his religion is speperate than how he will govern. i think the other dude lost this battle. and wanting to be understood and passionate is not pissy. i think this was more on romney side, that we dont want seen.

(33,982 posts)That IS projecting your faith onto others as he governs.
The son of a bitch even pretended RU-486 was an abortifacient. It isn't.

What a prick!
What is remarkable; his outrage is at the cameras, not about going off half cocked, but that it was filmed.

(6,407 posts)He seems to understand the line between church and state which is more than most GOP do.
The radio guy, on the other hand, is a total asshole.
I usually find Romney to be a spineless hypocrite and panderer, but here he actually sounds reasonable.
renate
(13,776 posts)... around 11:10 or so he's talking about how the tenets of his faith shouldn't be made law for everybody: e.g., just because the Mormon church says he can't drink alcohol, it shouldn't be made illegal for everybody; same with sex before marriage. He said "My religion is for me and how I live my life," "I don't (I think he means wouldn't or shouldn't) impose all my faith's beliefs on you," and "I should have the right to practice my religion, you should have the right to practice yours."
The host is trying to give Mitt advice on how to appeal to religious conservatives and Mitt is arguing pretty strongly in favor of separating his beliefs from his policies.
I can't believe I'm defending the guy, but I'm actually pleasantly surprised by what I saw here. (Is this an old tape? This doesn't sound like 2012 Mitt.)

(3,433 posts)That being politically pro-life is itself against his Church's belief?
I believe he argued that Mormon's are pro-life for themselves, but pro-choice for people broadly. But that he would govern pro-life for everyone.

(47,352 posts)uncharacteristically human sounding in the off air discussion. He does have a tendency to talk over people and interrupt but he sounded more real than he does on camera.
Also this isn't the first time I've noticed that Mitt is not as easy-going as he'd like people to believe. If he doesn't get his way, he tends to get a bit testy. The way he treated Rick Perry during the debates was very uncomfortable to watch. Its no wonder that Perry looked like he wanted to deck his opponent. Smug is an unattractive trait in a candidate.
JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)That was the real angry, short-tempered Romney.
He gets that angry in a theoretical discussion with a radio personality whose support he needs? Not much self-control there.
Would you want him dealing with foreign countries? Hillary Clinton has problems enough in this area, but at least she sulks and walks off. That's better than getting into a one-upmanship shouting match. (And he was trying to control himself, so I can only imagine what he is like with people he knows well.)
He takes things too personally and does not have a quiet, peaceful approach to dealing with people with points of view other than his own.

(62,402 posts)I get the distinct feeling that Mitt Money will be looking to his church for answers to secular questions. That scares the fuck out of me.
Anyway, hard to decide who is the biggest asshole, Mickelson or Mitt Money.

(1,944 posts)state and his faith simply because of the "White Horse" story and the elders of his church who will be pushing for all they are worth to "save" America.
If he was just another Mormon politician like Sen. Reid - that would be different, but because of that silly prophecy the LDS church will not remain quiet.
