Could I win?

I will tell you what I believe or advocate and you tell me if I could win enough votes to secure a plurality or majority of the votes necessary to become president.

-pro choice
-pro affirmative action
-pro marriage equality and a federal law to prevent discrimination against gays, lesbians, bisexuals, transgenders in employment. housing, lodging, et cetera
-single payer health coverage
-massive anti-poverty program to ensure even the poorest among us get to live in clean and safe neighborhoods
- a progressive income tax
-campaign finance reform that limits independent expenditures
-remove the federal penalty for marijuana possession and a recommendation to the states they either legalize or decriminalize simple possession
-massive infrastructure investment
-no interest college loans
-immigration reform that gives undocumented workers a path to citizenship

I will probably think of more.

Could I win?

Community colleges provides education and allows most to remain in homes with parents in order to afford college courses. I would hope some attention would be given to technical schools also.

would oppose all those policies.

A Senate or House seat would depend on where and when. The where is pretty obvious. The when would be whether you were running in a presidential election year when Democratic voters tend to turn out or in a off-year election in which the republican base is a larger share of actual voters.

As to general elections platforms matter but so does optics.

the country you're running in in terms of Senate elections. (Your platform would not get you far in the South or much of the mountain West.)

Very true. I am assuming that you are attractive, photogenic and well-spoken.

I was attractive and photogenic but age and gravity always get the last word.

My platform is Bernie's platform. It would have a much better chance of working if it was presented by a young, handsome, war hero with a photogenic wife and young family. Does anybody come to mind?

Oh, and you can replace handsome with attractive and a photogenic wife with a photogenic husband.

i tend to eschew labels but if i had to label myself i would call myself a small d and small s democratic socialist. If I was God there would still be rich folks but there wouldn't be any poor folks.
