Personalities vs Issues

Democrats, by their nature, prefer to talk issues. Republicans, by their nature, prefer to talk personalities. But which is best for political purposes?

It is my opinion that the Republican Party will make the next election mostly about Barack Obama. He loves big government. He is a socialist. He is divisive. He is the worst President we have ever had...etc...etc... The only time they will mention issues is when it will reflect negatively on their opponent.

Democrats normally prefer to talk about issues, such as Lily Ledbetter Act, job creation, healthcare, education, etc.

Unfortunately, it is much easier to get voters to vote against a person rather than an "issue". That is why, this election, Democrats should define Mitt Romney in the same way the Republicans wish to define Barack Obama. In other words, he is "out-of-touch" with average Americans. He is not a "job creator" - he is a job destroyer. He has hid fortunes in banks in Switzerland and the Cayman Islands to escape paying the same tax rates as others of his wealth class. He is nothing but a stamp for the right-wing that has taken over the Republican Party. He has said what he will cut and we should have no reason not to believe him. Also, he wants to continue the Bush policies of more taxcuts for the wealthy, including himself. These are better arguments to make against Mitt Romney, rather than attempting to discuss issues. Just my opinion...
