(25,183 posts)It's well known that in the Republicon Iowa caucuses, the fundie vote usually awards the first victory of primary season. Cruz is nakedly going after that segment, while letting his opponents divide the rest of the GOP caucusgoers.
He's trying to keep Hucksterbee and Santorum on the sidelines by showing that he's at least trying to keep homophobia alive.

All Hillary has to do is stay alive to win.
I would prefer to have better Dem choices, I don't like that we are driven to the polls out of a need to beat the American Taliban,
but ...sigh...that seems to be the reality.

(25,183 posts)the Rethugs will coalesce around one candidate, then it's a matter of whether their hate for Hillary is stronger than the hurt from the wounds the various factions inflicted on each other during the process.
Also, it will matter as to who the mushy middle fears less in the weekend before the election.

(60,010 posts)is there is much more chance of vote splitting among several candidates.
And I can only hope enough people have had it with Tea Party types by now.

(6,537 posts)It's called "separation of powers". Cruz is a constitutional conservative as long as the constitution agrees with him; otherwise, it's "legislating from the bench!"

(33,688 posts)is made of green cheese. Federal district courts are courts of original jurisdiction under the Constitution. Which means if you meet the statutory requirements for standing and damages, you get heard. Jurisdiction limiting bills never go anywhere for a simple reason - they're unconstitutional on their face.
