Fisherman risks own life to save baby fox from being kicked to death by thugs

A gang of vile thugs shot dead a vixen then set about killing her defenceless cub by kicking it as it lay cowering just inches from her dead mother.

The poor animal was only saved when a hero fisherman risked his own life to intervene and was assaulted himself.

The Good Samaritan came to blows with the brutes as they carried out the brutal attack on the defenceless baby after shooting her mum on a pitch-black country lane.

The brave wildlife-lover snatched the tiny fox to safety in the nick of time - and she's now making a strong recovery at a local animal sanctuary.

I have respect for many hunters - but for the assholes that were trying to kick that cub to death, I have only contempt. Any hunter, fisher, or outdoors person worth their salt, would have hopefully done something like what this man did.

There really should be stricter regulations about this kind of thing. I don't know if it was legal for them to kill the vixen the way they did, but it should not have been, especially not one they were aware of the presence of the cub.

Honest hunting is one thing... to take furs, pelts, to hunt for meat, or for money... but there are lines that should be not crossed, out of simple decency and respect for life. I wouldn't find it very sad if those thugs were set upon by a large, hungry wolf pack.
