I think the Jenner interview can do a lot of good.

Feelings about Bruce Jenner or Diane Sawyer aside, this has opened a discussion on transgender issues that many watching have probably never had or thought about, and has a real potential to make some people out there struggling to come to terms with their own gender identity feel a bit less alone. I thought it was a pretty well done interview.

And I applaud D Sawyer for doing this interview.

What I really hated it tonite was Bill Maher's transphobic "jokes". I only tuned in for a few to see who his guests were , and there he was , taking shots at Jenner. What an ass Maher has become.

I'm happy for Jenner to finally be open and hopefully proud of her identity. Seeing someone be able to embrace their difference after what had to have been a very difficult struggle is good for all who share that experience in any context.

No, I did not watch the interview but could not escape it - the promotions and the aftermath.

On the one hand I am thinking: who cares? Another promotion from the Kardashians.

On the other hand I am thinking that perhaps, young people with gender identities can get the courage to "come out" and talk to someone.
