When will Black Lives Matter?

Once again a black child is murdered. It happens every 28 hours. Once again the one that is murdered is called a thug. Those that protest and sadly there was some looting, they are thugs as well. Where is the media focus on the 10K that peacefully came to protest Mr Freddie Gray.? No, they focus on the violence because they thrive on it for media attention.

When will black lives matter more than a business. There was looting and that was wrong. Yet, they have insurance and they can rebuild. Mr Gray, he had no insurance on his life. He was tossed in the back of a van, unsecured, his spine was severed and neck broken by the time they reached the PD. Dear god. He is dead, he can not rebuild. His family will never be able to rebuild. Their life as they knew destroyed. There will be no rebuilding there, ever.

So I ask you? A human life now has less value than you and your business. Does your white privilege hold more value to you than a young black son dying?

Black people are terrified, their children are dying. This is a national crisis. We are at war. The death toll is rising. Wake up America, please wake up.

Thursday's New York Times had news sure to provoke demographic panic in some of the more unsavory corners of American society: the Census Bureau announced that non-white babies now account for the majority of births in the US. Here's the Times writeup:

Non-Hispanic whites accounted for 49.6 percent of all births in the 12-month period that ended last July, according to Census Bureau data made public on Thursday, while minorities — including Hispanics, blacks, Asians and those of mixed race — reached 50.4 percent, representing a majority for the first time in the country’s history.

Such a turn has been long expected, but no one was certain when the moment would arrive — signaling a milestone for a nation whose government was founded by white Europeans and has wrestled mightily with issues of race, from the days of slavery, through a civil war, bitter civil rights battles and, most recently, highly charged debates over efforts to restrict immigration.

I laugh, ah hell I cry to see this, those that are scared. Hey, I am an old person and don't give a damn. I embrace it.

Me, I have never seen skin color. My family was colorblind I guess, gawd bless us. With a few exceptions, my family are for the most part Democrats. My dad, he got wishy washy sometimes. Yet I got him to vote for Obama in 2008. Sadly, he was to far gone to vote in 2012.

4. When people stop clucking their tongues about property more than black lives

That's it.

The right wingers are a lost cause; they'll never care more.

But some of those who claim to be Liberal and Democrat that always say about just how terrible those poor unarmed black men and women getting executed by the police then do the "but....", then talk about cigars that may have been stolen, or a toy gun sold in a store that wasn't in any way shape or form real or pointed at anyone, or "they shouldn't have run away...", they are the ones that have to change their view.

But they have to value the lives of black men and women more than they do their comfort or property. And in the end, I think most don't want to do that, no matter how much they talk a good game.

The same things were said here when Katrina happened; there was much outrage of "looting" over the poor (who were mostly black) who were literally dying before our eyes.

It doesn't matter how many unarmed black men and women are murdered by police to them.

They have no idea what it's like to have no hope that in the country they live in that they will ever get a fair shake because of their color. no idea, no matter how much they try to convince others (and themselves) that they do.

So they rail about drug stores burning rather than black people dying.

Their comfort and property mean more in the end. That's the reality.

The police brutality in the US is beyond a normal person imagination. Even when a black commit a crime, that person gets two or three times the sentence of a white person. That is how it is in the US!

Who gave the cops so much authority?
