Say, how good are the chances that Romney's campaign will be derailed by scandal?

I'm thinking that it's not at all out of question that one of Romney's quick-money, taxpayer-infused profiting investments is going to explode on the national scene at some point before November as a major scandal (the later the better).

Any number of his offshore investments could draw the attention and scrutiny from regulators and other financial investigators as his finances become more public; as demands from the press and public that he divulge everything become more insistent.

To begin with, we can't even get a decent amount of tax returns from him. What's Romney hiding? Here's a fellow who has profited from one of the most predatory of financial enterprises that's out there. To maintain his level of profitability, Romney would need to associate himself with the very worst influences that the financial industry has to offer.

At the very least, his level of moneychanging must certainly skirt the limits of national tolerance for such wanton capitalism; if not our very ethics and laws that govern such shady transactions. If he wants to be president, we deserve to know where and how he got his dough. I'm sure a great many of folks are out there looking as closely as they can at his finances. A relative unknown entity and individual to the majority of the American voters, that can't bode well for Romney's candidacy.

I see where the Obama campaign already has diagrams of his offshore holdings/taxes paid to foreign countries (which enable him to take massive tax breaks here in the US). But I'll both cross fingers and hold my breath if it can get to ABC, NBC, and CBS right before the election. I say that because the Fox News Corp will never ever show it . . . MSNBC will definitely highlight it in their evening line-up - but that won't hit a large cross section of the population that only watch Network News at 6:30 PM.

Exclusive: Romney Family Investment Group Partnered With Alleged Perpetrators Of $8 Billion Ponzi Scheme

Mitt Romney, his son Tagg, and Romney’s chief fundraiser, Spencer Zwick, have extensive financial and political ties to three men who allegedly participated in an $8.5 billion Ponzi scheme. A few months after the Ponzi scheme collapsed, a firm financed by Mitt Romney and run by his son and chief fundraiser partnered with the three men and created a new “wealth management business” as a subsidiary.

"They are politicizing big business"
"The are attacking me because I am successful"

Feel free to add your own excuses.

something to weird to make the mouth breathers stand up and take notice. Other than that, nothing will derail his run. Because the mouth breathers take their marching orders from fox news.

Their could be pictures of mitten's screwing goats while his wife danced naked to death metal dressed as gumby and documents showing he has several wifes in 10 different states all involved in drug running for some central american cartel and the right wing morons still wouldn't believe it because fox news would spin it as a plot by the Democratic Party to debase mitten's religion or choice of goats as pets.

you have to remember something, stupidity sells. That's how it works now. No matter how much a story real or not reads like something straight out of the National Enquirer, it's now big news.

in our 24/7 news cycle, fox has to invent stuff and spin stuff to keep the morons clapping for more. Regardless of it's true or not. They will make it "seem" true.

he's been running for so long, there's little chance of anything more coming out that already hasn't.

That said, his well known record at Bain should be a scandal, as well as the fact that so much of his money is offshore and hidden. The attacks by his primary opponents were about as hard-hitting on those scandals as we should expect. Obama will not be "allowed" to go at him so strong.

Not likely.

"Scandal" means putting your weiner where it doesn't belong. Americans don't care about anything else.

that Romney has some deep dark secret that is in his past that would blow up. The guy seems even more white bread and boring than most politicians.

in his campaign. So far, his campaign has been spectacularly poorly managed, even with all the money it has behind it. With that kind of incompetence, there might be some pretty embarrassing things going on...
