(5,217 posts)Bernie has close to 5 million now in his Senate campaign fund that he can use. It would be great to see that doubled by May 6.

(94,510 posts)Until he formally announces (tomorrow), his Presidential Committee isn't active. There are ways to transfer Federal campaign contributions, but it's not a clean as contributing directly.
cali
(114,904 posts)he can use his Senate war chest with NO problem.
I'd think you would know this.

Unlike you, us "little people" have to raise money for our candidate with small donations.

(19,460 posts)That is pretty much what it is going to take to compete with the likes of the Koch Brothers. And don't think for one minute that ole' Sheldon will support Bernie because both are Jews.
cali
(114,904 posts)First, you post a despicable claim about Bernie being allied with "Bibi" and now this gratuitous pile of dog shit about Bernie not being able to rely on a JEWISH repuke?
Disgusting.
SHAME on YOU.

(14,195 posts)His pretty rainbow HRC logo isn't looking so shiny next to his comments..... "Both are Jews"? That matters exactly - why?
brooklynite
(94,510 posts)I said you should have waited until tomorrow when the Presidential Committee would be active.
cali
(114,904 posts)gosh, putting words in my mouth. why is that so very unsurprising. I don't know how you were brought up, but I was taught that was a rather tacky thing to do.
Look, you posted snark (Congrats).
Oh, and I think Bernie's campaign has this figured out and wouldn't have put up the page if it was going to cause them any headaches.
but thanks for attempting to put a damper on it.

(7,393 posts)Just like I will for every Democrat that is running. Except Chafee. If he runs I will not donate to him. He was a repuke too long before switching sides.
cali
(114,904 posts)thanks for the kick.
He's liberal-you?
MaggieD
(7,393 posts)I'm a Democrat. I support all Democrats. And yes, I'm very liberal. Thanks for asking.
KittyWampus
(55,894 posts)Poster says they will send some money when he declares as a Democrat and you post a hostile response asking if that DU'er is liberal.

(17,193 posts)It will take a pretty big bomb to get Bernie enough to compete in the money arena.

cali
(114,904 posts)he'll have support. I'll bet he gets union support as well as support from other organizations like Progressive dems of America and MoveOn and deep pocket liberals.
I think he can raise sufficient funds for the primary.

(656 posts)I just finished making two donations, one on behalf of myself and my family and one on behalf of another DU member who could not afford to help.

(656 posts)Is truly not needed, in this election I will be fighting for what I and my family believe in not what the powers to be tell me I should believe in. On a side note Cali and I hope this wakes up some people, I had a Friend who is a die hard republican donate to Bernie this morning (LOL) I wish he was here to tell you why.
Pooka Fey
(3,496 posts)about your Republican friend donating! Thanks for sharing it!
You are very generous to donate to Bernie on behalf of your friend. Two lovely stories!
I live in upstate NY and we are surrounded by Republicans, the one thing we are hearing from everybody in our small town is Republicans have also lost all hope, they are sick and tired of the talk about Social Security and a few other important issues, they are as sick of the way things are going just as we are. I am talking about the Little people, the ones that get up and go to work everyday and who are looking for an alternative to our current political system. People are tired of being lied to by the very people we put our trust in to improve lives not wreck them.
