Okay, here's the difference...

Bernie Sanders is challenging Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic Presidential primary.

Back in 2006, Ned Lamont challenged Joe Lieberman in the CT Democratic Senate primary.

Lamont won the nomination.

Lieberman, the incumbent, decided to run against Lamont in the general election anyway.

With help from Karl Rove and the CT GOP, Lieberman defeated the Democratic nominee for Senate.

This is what we refer to in common parlance as a "dick move."

Hopefully we will not see this in 2016. The losing primary challengers will either throw their support behind the Democratic nominee or else quietly withdraw to pursue other matters of interest.

Very very true! And I think he's going to add to the primary dialogue in a way that will craft the eventual nominee's platform in a positive way!

After all, Clinton and Obama eventually shook hands in 2008, even if some of their supporters did not.

In the end, Democrats support Democrats. If that weren't the case, we wouldn't win any presidential elections. And that's a fact.

Bernie has said repeatedly, as in over and over, that he will NOT PLAY THE ROLE OF A SPOILER.

For 25 frickin' years, he's been endorsing dems for President.

I have NEVER witnessed Bernie going back on his word, or weasling.

He's my Senator. He'll endorse Hillary. Unlike the vast majority of politicians, he has honor.

You can put your mind at ease.

Right now, I'm supporting Bernie for the nomination. If he loses to Hillary, so be it, well played, Hillary for the White House.

Some of the other DUers, on the other hand, may occasionally forget that primaries are often healthy for the party.
