Where were the "10th Amendmenters" during Bush v. Gore?

And where are they now with the Feds running roughshod over the states' medicinal marijuana laws?

Republicans love "Big Government" as long as it represents their authoritarian views.

GOP = "Gang Of hyPocrites"

Or my "Representative," Kevin Yoder...

And this assine law recently passed in Kansas:

Kansas to Pregnant Women: "A Little Lie from Your Doctor Won't Hurt You"

Posted by Jennifer Dalven, Reproductive Freedom Project at 12:54pm

It's what every pregnant woman I know dreads. Going into that big ultrasound, having the ultrasound tech, who had been so chatty, suddenly go silent. Having her do sweep after sweep across your belly without saying another word, until finally, she gets up and solemnly says, "I am going to get the doctor."

As far as pregnancy nightmares go, I thought that was one of the worst. But now politicians in Kansas are giving pregnant women and their partners something new to worry about. Buried in a sweeping anti-abortion bill is a provision that would immunize a doctor who discovers that a baby will be born with a devastating condition and deliberately withholds that information from his patient. That's right. If the bill passes, a doctor who opposes abortion could decide to lie about the results of your blood tests, your ultrasound, your cvs or your amnio. Lie to you so that you won't have information that might lead you to decide to end your pregnancy or that might lead you to learn more about your child's condition so that you are prepared to be the best parent you can be to your child.

Now, I have been working for a long time defending the right of a pregnant woman to make the best decision for herself and her family, whether that is continuing the pregnancy, adoption, or abortion, based on full, accurate information. I thought I had seen just about every manner of government intrusion into those fundamentally personal and private decisions. I thought I was past the point of being shocked and outraged. But as a mother who has been through those ultrasounds myself, the thought that my doctor could choose to withhold this information from me and take this decision away from me and my husband ... well, let's just say it really touched a nerve.

And, unfortunately, it's not just Kansas. Other states motivated by anti-abortion zeal are jumping on the it's-ok-for-doctors-to lie-to-their-patients-to-prevent-them-from-having-an-abortion bandwagon. Oklahoma recently passed a similar law. And, the Arizona legislature is considering a similar bill.

Anti-immigration

They are giving mega buck contracts to their pals to patrol the border, by having the government buy a lot of high tech stuff that was unnecessary in the past and is unnecessary now, just like the invasion of Iraq, etc. They aren't anti-immigrant, when it suits their business model, such as cheaper IT workers, migrants who work the fields in conditions that Caesar Chavez knew about, and worse.

All because there's less government to call employers to task, or less of those pesky regulations. There is no inspection of conditions and things get bad. And they've brainwashed their lemmings to think that immigrants are the reason for wages being low and their communities being unsafe. Decent wages, sensible law enforcement and a social safety net would require more government. They're winning this battle and making a killing.

The fact that the money paid for drones, for example, is going into private pockets and they are getting the cities and states to go along with it, guarantees they will have GOP voters in the bag for years to come as they get to live higher than most average Americans from that.

more restrictions on a lot of things

No enough data, unless you're talking of the war on women, the poor, etc. That's to put government authority into action to force Republican Rape© on those who dare try to defy their wing nut followers' sacred cow, the unborn. They even make the women pay for the rape service the doctors will do for the insurance money. No big government there in the fiscal sense, just in your mind all the time like Big Brother while women will be told to make more cannon fodder for the next war the GOP instigates.

anti-gay rights

That is an anti-big government scam that appeals to their wing nut religious base and guarantees their re-election, despite all facts to the contrary they are robbing them blind in benighted districts. They've been running on Guns, God and Gays forever. Brings out those shining flowers of humanity like Nugent every time. He's not for a big government, he thinks he should be able to screw anyone he wants, whenever he wants. That's freedom and liberty in a nutshell. Or nut's hell, take your pick.

Anti-gay is part of being anti-human, and they want the government to stay out of the way of the wing nut churched from taking anyone out who's unpopular with them and reducing the population. Many people will lose insurance and benefits by denying civil unions as well. As the excellent video posted here on DU shows, they intend to not only screw same sex couples, but everyone. It always end up that way, you know.

Voter ID laws

This is another one that forces smaller government. They can keep all of the crazy big gum mint spending welfare queens away from the polls. After a while, they will forget they ever had a government and will bow to their corporatist masters. Or die, preferably.

They are small government, big contract, powerful church and eugenics guys who aren't inconsistent. Let's not pretend they mean good by drowning the government in a bathtub. When it's small enough, the Dire Wolf will be at the door, and no one will be coming out and help you.

You will all be sushi, then.

And Constitutional rights guaranteed by regulation, civil rights laws and bigger government. They've been defunding things that people want to have more social mobility and freedom to live their lives which they falsely claim is 'big.'

I can't quite make out what you're saying, and don't think you understand the way I put this in my way of talking, so let's give a rest. n/t

They're also for freedom of religion...except for Muslims. Freedom of speech...except for Occupy Wall Street. Privacy from government...except when it involves a woman's right to control her own body. Against Obamacare...except when they choose to take advantage of some of its provisions. Against government control of health care...but the government had better keep its hands off their Medicare. Against government handouts...except for oil companies. Hypocrisy doesn't begin to describe these people.
