"Thank God I got the half that thinks," she writes in response to an assertion that a series of tweets -- now deleted -- has cost her 50 percent of her fans.
Cher went on an anti-Republican tirade early Tuesday morning that went viral courtesy of the Drudge Report, and by noon she had deleted the offending tweets.
If ROMNEY gets elected I dont know if I can breathe same air as Him & his Right Wing Racist Homophobic Women Hating Tea Bagger Masters, the entertainer tweeted referring to Mitt Romney, the Republican's likely nominee for president.
After some criticism -- some of it profane -- Cher tweeted: TOO HARSH? Thats me Holding BACK! They care nothing about the POOR The OLD The SICK The HUNGRY CHILDREN & People striving 4 a Better LIFE ! "

(153,150 posts)the host recognized her voice and asked, "Is this Cher?" and she said yes - so cool, calling in about a progressive issue (which escapes me right now)

(2,533 posts)She made no attempt to identify herself just a anonymous caller who knew the subject well-thats when the host recognized her.
I'm not typically impressed by anything "celebrity". But she's a real deal class act.
Props to her!

(24,721 posts)at a time when media bends over backwards to continue on its idiotic "we must play fairly" routine despite the fact that the right wing is now completely insane.
It just gets worse & worse since those who created the division, Bush & Cheney, weren't held accountable, which would have put a lid on all the madness we're seeing now.
I love Cher!

(45,319 posts)I love her. Cher is a great actor and she's had some hit songs as well!
For what it's worth, I know she walks her polimAtical walk, and she takes action both as a famous person and as a regular activist, that is she does things others do not see, attention for Cher is not a prerequisite for gaining Cher's support.

i can see the sequel to the Cheech & Chong line: "Now we return to The Story of the Jackson Five, starring The Osmond Brothers!"
"Now we return to the story of Ike and Tina Turner, starring Sonny & Cher!"
Speaking of duets where the woman obviously got a whole lot more talent....
She's a crazy Armenian from Fresno, the home of the William Saroyan Theater. But she's a cool lady.

We can't forget that Carter inherited a mess too and it was the deal that reagan did with Iran along with other dirty tricks that defeated him.
