Ex-CIA official: GOP distorted agency analysis of Benghazi

WASHINGTON (AP) — A former CIA deputy director says Republicans repeatedly distorted the agency's analysis of the Benghazi attack in 2012 that killed the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans. He also says U.S. intelligence agencies failed to recognize that al-Qaida would rapidly regain strength after the killing of Osama bin Laden.

In his new book, Michael Morell dismissed the notion that CIA officers and the military "were ordered to stand down" and not come to the aid of their comrades in Benghazi, The New York Times reported. Morell also says there is no evidence the Central Intelligence Agency had conspired with the White House to spin the Benghazi story to protect then-Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.

2. EVERY Repub lawmaker knew they were lying when they created that narrative….

and also knew they could get away with it in the corpmedia, because the WH would do what every WH does, and remain reticent about the attack because Benghazi was first and foremost a covert CIA operation under the direction of Gen. Petreaus who had dozens of his agents and operatives on the ground there before, during, and after the attack. It would take weeks to try protect and extract those involved in the op, including cooperating residents. Republicans didn't care. It was a political opportunity to attack this WH and State that they didn't have the moral character to skip.

Especially Intel Committee Republicans. Instead of standing for the truth they joined in and abetted the political opportunism that has been running rampant from jump street.

Republicans are incapable of shame. They laugh when they are caught, because they know IT'S TOO LATE to effect of their lies - the corpmedia will never admit to their audience that they were used to propel the GOPs big lie.

Reminds me of the spin Bush & Co. put on their own 9/11 malfeasance and transformed it into an attack on America by Saddam Hussein.

It's a gift they have, that keeps on giving.
