I mean, it would be hate speech to mention that the Torah/Old Testament calls for the execution of witches, blasphemers and adulterers. As does the Quran.

I agree with the OP: anyone mocking religion is a hater, and cartoonists are criminals.

Down with the separation of Church and State. I want to burn witches. And cartoonists.

people over such ugly things said to them. protesting and yelling "god hates fags" at a gay person's funeral is far worse than drawing muhammed because one is more personal and direct .

Westboro appears to invoke Jesus and Christianity into their hate-filled rhetoric. Ms. Geller, at least as far as I know, does not promote her cause as affiliated with Judaism. Therefore she is secular in her socio-political activities.
