Thank you Mr. President. Would that you could pop in over at DU and look those people who feel otherwise straight in the eye and tell them just what it means. Some of them don't seem to get the concept at all.At least one of them is actively promoting doing away with the First Amendment so as to be "more in line with progressive countries like Britain." How fucking scary is that? Jail? Me? For using the word "fucking"? LOL you're such a joker. I took you seriously there for a second. Oh yes I totally agree with you... jail their ass for even SUGGESTING such stupid shit.
Thanks for the talk.

(14,733 posts)It gets tedious pretty quickly to point out over and over that you're not defending terrorists or 'justifying violence' or 'blaming the victim' (the only victim I'm aware of was a single security guard, certainly not Ms Gellar) or any of the other fatuous things being said when you simply point out that in the real world it was entirely predictable that such an event would draw a terrorist attack, and that such an attack will only strengthen Ms Gellar's ability to profit off of spreading Islamophobia.

(27,630 posts)Are you doubting that there are people out there who agree that drawing a caricature of Mohammed justifies their killing?
Or are you referring only to DUers who post their opinions about it?

(14,733 posts)Since that's what the constant mischaracterizations on here are about. I don't think anyone is naive enough to believe people don't exist who think violence can be justified somehow. If they didn't exist, we wouldn't have wars or state sanctioned executions. And some subset of those who justify violence and murder do so based upon religious beliefs, and some subset of those are Muslims, and some subset of them believe cartoons are a good enough justification.
