ISIS Claims Responsibility for Texas Cartoon Attack

http://abc13.com/news/isis-claims-responsibility-for-texas-cartoon-attack/697157/

snip-

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility on Tuesday for a weekend attack at a center near Dallas, Texas, that was exhibiting cartoon depictions of the Prophet Muhammad - though it offered no evidence of a direct link to the attackers.

An audio statement on the extremist group's Al Bayan radio station said that "two soldiers of the caliphate" carried out Sunday's attack and promised the group would deliver more attacks in the future.

The Islamic State did not provide details and it was unclear whether the group was opportunistically claiming the attack as its own. It was the first time the IS, which frequently calls for attacks against the West, had claimed responsibility for one in the United States.

Two suspects in Sunday's attack in the Dallas suburb of Garland were shot dead after opening fire at a security guard outside the center.

Their two guys, warriors equipped with body armor and 'assault rifles', were taken out by a guy with a hand gun.

but given their use of propaganda through social media there is a good chance they were in contact with each other and got them to do it. They use of the lone wolf. But I haven't followed the updates on the killers to know their background.

We have spent the past 2 days collectively gnashing our teeth over Geller's event and how it will incite radical Islam, then a radical Islamic group claims responsibility for the retaliatory attack and we don't believe them.

Do I have that about right?

My sole contributions have been:

Telling someone who was "reporting" inaccuracies to wait until the whole story came through (this was before the dead men were ID'd).

This thread right here.

So this is what you get from me: Don't shoot the messenger.

ISIS uses propaganda quite heavily so a lot of what they say isn't true. They certainly enforce the Wahhabbi doctrine which this whole violence on images originates from so the very well could be but ever since the House of Saud & petroleum export era Wahabbism spread so it could be a number of other groups with different names like Al-Qaeda but all are Wahhabi. ISIS for propaganda reasons would claim credit even for attacks they aren't directly responsible for but very well could be. Whether ISIS is directly or not Wahabbism certainly is. Qatar might as well claim credit for the attacks.

AR-RAQQAH, SYRIA—Frustrating the Islamic extremist group’s efforts to bolster its ranks and expand its influence overseas, representatives for ISIS told reporters Wednesday that they have so far encountered considerable difficulty in finding American recruits who are physically fit enough for jihad. “We’ve been in communication with a number of U.S. citizens who are eager to join in our holy crusade, but unfortunately, not one of them is in decent enough shape to effectively wage war against the West,” said ISIS operative Bakir Hamdani, pointing to a general lack of athleticism among the hundreds of potential American recruits, as well as respiratory ailments and dependencies on a variety of diabetes, blood pressure, and allergy medications that preclude these would-be jihadists from assisting in the establishment of a worldwide Sunni caliphate. “Even though these people are enthusiastic about righteous martyrdom, I honestly don’t see most of them even fitting into a suicide vest, let alone lugging a 40-pound rocket launcher through the desert. The thing is, we can’t inflict terror into the hearts of the masses if our fighters are always doubled over red-faced and winded.” Hamdani added that ISIS’ best course of action was to allow these overweight, sedentary American operatives to continue burdening the U.S. health care system in hopes of eventually bankrupting the nation.
