Serving as a poll worker today. "Benghazi" and "Obama bought votes" from 2 GOP poll workers.

It is a slow election day in a suburban precinct. Just a school levy on the ballot so very light turnout so far.

Poll workers are mostly retired. We avoid talking politics for the most part both because we're supposed to and because we know we'll disagree and have to work together for a 14-hour day.

Out of the blue one republican worker said that she could never vote for Hillary because of Benghazi and "letting that ambassador get tortured and killed". When I said I disagreed and we shouldn't be talking about that she seemed to realize she had stepped over the line.

Another one stated that "Obama's people" bussed in voters in Cincinnati in 2008 and 2012 and paid them to vote - like it was an established fact. Again when called on it she did stop.

These are both really nice women who are a pleasure to work with and talk to in every other way. Just amazing to get a brief glimpse of the world they live in.

One would think that poll workers would catch all these bused-in people. arcane1 May 2015 #2
Maybe they should volunteer to train the poll workers there. That'll teach 'em. Lochloosa May 2015 #5

Faux News and the rightwing talking heads have really indoctrinated the herd to believe whatever they dish up. It is really discouraging knowing these people will never hear and thus never accept and believe the truth.

Think of the time they gave up when they could have
stayed home listening to Faux or OxyRush.

And my mother (a retired librarian with a sign up for it in the front yard) didn't even realize that this was the day to vote until I told her. Day's almost over and she was only the 75th voter a few minutes back. I'm thinking this one is going to be decided by very few total voters.
