They are often used to display group rules or provide other information of continuing interest or use.

of the famous UW Fence, which consisted of a wall of plywood around the site where they were building a new campus building. The entire fence was a graffiti magnet, and somebody even took a series of pictures of it & made it into a book for sale.

Anyway, the two graffiti that stick out in my mind were
