Fox News ( ) exaggerates and lies about many things. That is what it does. The people that do the exaggerating and lying know what they are doing, and it is ok to the bosses there. It is what the boss wants and it is good for the boss and his station.
2nd. Fox News encourages people to come on their cable news and do exactly the same. Lying and exaggerating. Over and over again guests are put on a national cable network to send out their exaggerations and lies.
3rd Through this encouragement and publicity, others lie and exaggerate about stupid and idiotic ideas because at least at one national cable network it is ok and allowed. These exaggerators and liars may not have any connection at Fox News, but because it is ok at their favorite station, it is ok, so they exaggerate and lie,
4th. In a way, Fox News legitimizes exaggeration and lies. If Fox does it, it is ok
5th...As a result. of 1 - 4 above.., we now have some idiots and exaggerators getting national publicity about the federal governments plans to take over (what ever that is) the state of Texas. What is that about???????????

(1,241 posts)had him totally brainwashed in a very short time. He was convinced that FOX was the ONLY outlet needed for news. All others were left wing liars. One thing about him is he can barely read or write. So what ever she told him he took for unquestionable truth. He even called us friends "low information voters". He talked so much FOX bullshit talking points that he almost lost all of his real friends. Now he is getting a divorce and never ever talks politics around us. He knows he fucked up. He was even down on unions as he draws a 1600 a month pension. Talk about low information.

(38,414 posts)I have read that about 10 percent of population has reading problems. I guess many watch TV thinking that FOX is it for news. There is a certain security thinking you don't have to look elsewhere for news or any kind of information. Getting different ideas from different sources is in my opinion a sign of intelligence. It is one of the reasons I really like DU..so many different sources..just like being in a huge library where you pick up the magazines with the push of a button

(1,241 posts)on DU. I didn't realize how low information I was until I found this place. I still don't claim to be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I am a hell of a lot smarter than ever in my life and a lot less naïve.
