looks like a bunch of people and possibly flashlights or LED lights. Could be temporary as to not get into trouble. Ive heard sometimes you need whatever city, county, etcs permission to put messages on a overpass.

10. Noise of Rain's Materials List to make LED signs

Noise of Rain posted a materials list at [link:http://DailyKos.com|] Daily Kos:

Fri Nov 18, 2011 at 12:33 PM PST
"Make" Diary: DIY LED Signs To Light Up The Night.

Materials List:

1) corrugated plastic ("coroplast&quot which can be purchased in 4x8 sheets at plastics wholesale/retails stores, or through sign shops. This is strong and light and waterproof and very easy to cut and drill. (One could use any drill-able surface, but watch the weight for field carrying. Pegboard is a possibility, and would be very convenient for a large stationary sign.)

We got ours at a regional plastics manufacturer, Midland Plastics. Be aware that "coroplast" is a specific brand, but most people call all corrugated plastic "coroplast."

2) LED Christmas lights: battery powered for field use, plug in for stationary settings.
We shopped around, and these Sylvania lights are the best, available from True Value. Best price, too.

3) 3/4" x 1" pine (dimensions could vary) for framing sign

4) epoxy glue

5) various tools: hand drill, bit = size for lights to fit snugly in (we used 1/4", but this would vary according to your lights), tape measure, velcro, 3/4" wood screws, awl or nail for poking holes.

Wish I knew how to link to the page at DailyKos.com where he, Noise of Rain, describes how to make the signs with plenty of helpful photos of the steps to make the signs. It was posted on Fri Nov 18, 2011 at 12:33 PM PST, by noise of rain, and it's titled

The chorus of honks begins when we first step onto the bridge. Even before the signs are displayed. People know, the trolls pounce quickly. Complaint calls hit the police stations soon thereafter. We're not always visited, but are quite frequently. The various police forces have been polite and professional, some friendly, some more officious, but I have no complaint. We understand the rules (to not affix anything to the fencing, and to not block the walkways) and are scrupulous about them. The police always seem surprised when they see a bunch of young to middle-aged to elder adults laughing and talking and being friendly. I'm not sure what they expect, but I know it isn't this. They always seem relieved when they ask, "How long do you plan to be here?" and I can look at my watch and say, "Uh, 25 more minutes, until 9:15. We go exactly 90 minutes from sunset." We are very disciplined, in a self-organizing and richly organic kind of way.

They are awesome! They set up in Appleton behind the technical college over HWY 41. They've done RECALL WALKER in the past but I'm not sure what they did a couple of weeks ago. They called for volunteers on Facebook.
