I'm about to leave home for 6 months, and I will have one carry on bag and a purse that holds my computer and other purse stuff.

No more checking.

These things have been used for many years - unfortunately, there are no luggage elves available to move each piece via dandelion pillows and baby's breath. That would be nice, though.

A carefully packed bag's contents won't be disturbed by this. No guarantees in what condition the TSA will leave it after rifling through looking to see what sort of undies you pack.

This one seems closer to the land of unicorns and shrooms -
has nice little doors that open and close making conveyor intersections

sat in a luggage bin and went through (or tried to go through) the automated system? Can't recall details and can't find the video (damn it). It was pretty funny.
