(85,986 posts). . . on this and many other issues against the efforts of the right-wing in that state. Some folks feel that staying and fighting is a better choice than packing up and leaving NC Democrats to fend for themselves.
Some people understood from the get-go that NC harbored conservative views and that holding our convention there is meant to be a direct confrontation to those republican-led factions and a promotion of our own values and agenda.

(18,672 posts)I live in Washington State now, and I'm so upset about this that I want to write a letter to Boeing in NC and ask that they pull out of that state. I know NC has a lot of good people who are not bigots, but there is no excuse for this.

(1,735 posts)Given N.Cs vote on marriage inequality, don't you think it's time to move the convention from Charlotte? Perhaps the City of Detroit would offer? Now that would put a finger in the eye of Mitt Rmoney. Detroit sure could use the revenue generated. Bet they have an empty stadium available and the area has lots of hotel rooms. Come on Democrats, let's let them know!

Republicans got it on the ballot the same day as their primary. They knew their crazy hate filled base would be out in droves. They gamed the system, like they always do.

(85,986 posts). . . probably moved there about the same time you did. They're fighting hard to make their voices heard so that folks don't think all of the state's residents are so backward. I feel for them and I hope we can make their voices heard in the upcoming days and weeks leading up to the election; and beyond.
