Social media posts by the Omaha Police Officers Association have angered community leaders and family members of the two cousins who were killed Tuesday morning.
Relatives mourned Lafayette Antonio Reed and Diondre Mitchell, both 27, at a prayer walk Wednesday night where the two were shot, at 3229 N. 28th St., in the Spencer Apartments public housing complex.
The now-deleted posts, which were only briefly on the police union’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, were linked to a story about Reed on the association’s website.
