helpful.
That being said, any praise or criticism will be checked thoroughly, both camps, and even if praise or criticism is unassailable as truth, your source may invalidate your truth.
Do not criticize Hillary in the Hillary group; do not criticize Bernie in the Bernie group.
Have some real substance in any criticism.

when asking a random group of pro-Hillary Dems the question in this thread, what percentage of them would simply respond "no it is not" followed by whatever put-downs the respondent is inspired to utter, or what? I am not being rhetorical--I might actually try this as part of an ad hoc survey just to see what happens...

Will be back to finish my thoughts.

Okay, I'm back ... (Arizona police frown upon typing while driving) ...

What do you hope to accomplish by the criticisms?

Do you don't that HRC supporters will not be moved off HRC by HRC-bashing; just like, Bernie supporters will not be moved off Bernie by Bernie-bashing? However, those in the middle (HRC-leaners and Bernie-leaners and those truly up in the air) might be swayed one way or the other for exactly the wrong reason(s) ... the same reasons the gop will use to bash whomever is the eventual Democratic nominee.

Do you doubt that there will be a gang of: "HRC is a fake populist, joined at the hip to wall street" gop ads; or, a bunch of "Bernie is a small market, self avowed SOCIALIST with bad hair" gop ads, just in time for the General Election, ... none of these will helps Democrats (or progressives or the world, for that matter).

AND/but, they will leave off the, "But she/he is better than any republican" part. So, since that IS what those in the middle have heard for the last 1 1/2, so ... it must be true. So, Why vote?

You should support whom ever you want but in doing so, it is not necessary to tear down someone else.
I wish everyone would stand back and support their candidate with praise. Let the repugs sling the mud.
Before it's all over the ugliness will have become unbearable.

it is beginning to sound like you have to be a dreamer in order to expect a rational, low-key, sober discussion when it comes to our two senators.

is not a genuine answer to my thread-opening question. All in all what I am wondering about is how often I would get a clear and simple answer rather than a flight into either coyness or outright aggression.

Criticism of Clinton--hell, even outright threats to not vote for her in the general or vote third party--are completely fine, but criticism of Sanders from people who've said they'll vote for him anyway is just a product of panicked neoliberal Wall Street PNAC-apologist meltdown.

Sounds pretty reasonable.

Different for everyone.

Does the criticism pertain to how she would lead the country? For me that includes honesty, trustworthiness and ability to accomplish things.

If you were one of those kids who always hit other kids but responded with pained outrage when a kid hit you back, you may want to reconsider. If you don't mind having it thrown back at you, have at it.

Why anybody would not have learned this lesson from the last decades of Republucan politics is a bit baffling. Nevertheless, too damned many DUers have not learned it.

What Would Bernie Do?

AFAICT - As Far As I Can Tell - Bernie would keep the criticism to a minimum and make sure any criticism is factual and unemotional. I doubt Bernie would like his campaigners playing the 'personal destruction' games like the republicans play.
