Whats hes describing is basically an internal mental process where this kind of border is disappearing.
This is the biggest show ever, he warned. Thats all thats happening right now. This is a show. Were watching a script and a play play out in front of us. None of this stuff is real. Those riots in Baltimore. That wasnt real At some point, there will be a straw that breaks the camels back, and it will set the whole country on fire. And what happens? We will cry out for police help. The police will be overwhelmed. The DOJ will say, Were going to take over policing, well coordinate it from here. And youre done. Its lights out, republic.
Its this perception that basic reality is not the real story that concerns me. Hes been spewing paranoid beliefs for a while, so that alone is not out of the ordinary. But this doubt about the basic reality of what hes seeing with his eyes is new. And its accompanied by him taking the paranoia up several notches.
...
Now, I dont want to contribute to the paranoia here, but the reason people may not hear Becks voice much longer is because he probably needs to take a break from broadcasting and get some serious psychological help. I know that hes one of the nations greatest charlatans, and its possible that he knows exactly what hes doing. But I think he is showing signs of mental and emotional crisis. The voices he says are in his head may actually be there.
Were being set up, guys. We are absolutely being set up, Beck said. And I dont know this is what I pray every night: I dont know how to do this, Lord. I dont know what you want. I dont know I dont know what you want. I cant wake up anyone. Oh, if I had the voice of an angel. I cant wake anybody else up. Theyve smeared me. Ive helped them smear me. I dont have any credibility. Nobody is listening. I can tell you whats coming. Ive told you every step of the way. I know whats coming next.
In any case, this is not the kind of thing people should be listening to. If hes not crazy, hes certainly acting crazy enough that its irresponsible to profit off it. The government shouldnt yank him off the air, but someone should. If not his friends and family, then maybe the station directors.

(60,010 posts)but his babble is much the same as it was years ago when Jon Stewart used to skewer him.
The piece in OP was someone's attempt to slam Beck.
And truly, one dies to have actually hear his words, his tone, his language more than to read it.
I have had the dubious pleasure of evaluating people for insanity in my career....and heard a lot of "word Salad" from certifiable loonies.
Beck and Palin both use a technique of political babble, logic free utterings with key words and idea tossed in to buzz shock their listeners.
Then these low IQ listeners obediently attend Reich Wing rallies, where they are sometimes interviewed by people like Stewart's cast,
who quite easily point out that the followers do not have the faintest idea of what they are talking about, nor any awareness of history, the constitution, or the economy.
But they DO go out and vote.
We need more stringent voting laws.

(21,719 posts)He, along with Alex Jones, Limbaugh, Hannity, Mark Levine, and all the other RW nut jobs have essentially destroyed civil discourse, the Republican party, and the USA as well as lowering the collective IQ by about 20 points.
I guess it's time to go graze on the funny farm and enjoy all that money now. (I think that farm is in Texas)

(34,582 posts)about him and Limbaugh. They are making lots of money because they know how to play on the fears of old white men.
