DOVER, N.H. (AP) New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said Friday that he's moving on from the bridge scandal that has badly tarnished his presidential prospects and is done apologizing for the actions of his former allies.

Christie was wrapping up a town hall event at Fury's Publick House bar in Dover Friday evening when he was confronted with the issue by a woman who said she was born and raised in New Jersey and was "beyond horrified" by the incident which she said reminded her of feudal times, when a king didn't care about his peasants.
His comment here brings to mind his supporter Rudy 911 911 911.
Christi says, it says here," I'm probably the only person in these discussions who've actually used it (the patriot act), "and know how important a tool it is to help prevent terrorism-to intercede before a terrorist act occurs-I'm not somebody who's going to back
off at all from the patriot act. " end quote Christi.
Now it is odd how it is he in no uncertain terms speaks about interceding before a terrorist act comes into happening because you see what went down in the so termed bridge gate is in effect a terrorist act if you think about it.We haven't heard much from those people driving on that bridge on that day . In short he cannot move on without tripping over his own two feet in each and every step he takes. Yet he says mistakes were made and rouge appointees did it.
So, who's watch was it ? They did it I didn't know anything about or of it ,lets move on.
I think he thinks he pretty tricky in a masterful kind of way, straight out of the play book. Provide yourself with a legal cover in everything that you do.
It doesn't float.

(60,010 posts)As I was reading the OP, I had the same thought about Manson.
wouldn't it be great if we could just all "move on" and "not worry about the past".
Dalmer, Bundy, Manson, etc. would never be serial killers, would they ?
There would be no need for "strike 3" prison laws.
Hell, baseball games would last forever, since balls and strikes did not count.
And Elizabeth Taylor would have been married only once....
It's a great concept, I tell ya!!!!!

(46,585 posts)He lied, saying he did not know about it until much later. If they have proof of that, why was he spared indictment? It seems the more powerful you are in this country, the least likely you'll be held accountable for wrongdoing. Christie is a worthless, bombastic land mass that should not hold public office.
okaawhatever
(9,457 posts)a time frame as to when he found out it was closed. That was the lie, he actually knew the bridge was closed before he said he did. What hasn't been proven is that he knew WHY it was shut down. Knowing it was shut down for a "traffic study" isn't illegal, participating in closing it down for political purposes is.
Christie was a former Federal Prosecutor and knows exactly how to stay out of trouble. I doubt he's left a trail of anything he's done. I think the only way they'll likely get him is by having those closest to him flip and give testimony.

(764 posts)Until they become a posterchild and Christie faces that as the investigations continue. Right now he is still bringing in money and attention but once the trial picks up and he can no longer hide his selfish greedy white collar theft the people in charge will appear to hang him, but in the end he will serve little or no time and have a cushy job at one the PAC backers. Still it will be good to see a bullys power taken away as it always is. I need to stock up on popcorn

It came as no surprise to some of the garden states political insiders Christi's inflammatory crash burn as it is slamming on.
One insider mentioned he knew it would come about ,he just didn't think it would happen so fast !
Christi's personal issues are not his alone ,in fact it's a syndrome. I would't say the syndrome originates in certain professions regarding the business of politics in the sate of New Jersey ,however I would say there is plenty of that particular brand spread out around the country. They transplant in other words ,but remain true to their colors . Bait and switch and bait & trap is common in their practice and it's never them ,it's aways somebody else.
And hot headed ass holes they are when things don't go their way .
When the big cheese come out, they all do ! Lable that the Christi class in a type ! Flim flam artists. It's the only way they know.
7 of 9 comes to mind !
