"Stop resisting! Don't go for my gun!"

Watch this video and tell me one thing: Does anyone think THESE cops came up with the "Stop resisting! Don't go for my gun" on their own?

That man is lucky to be alive.

In many places, US police area are a paramilitary organization that can only be compared with some of the worst such organizations in S. America, Eastern Europe, etc.

But in the US, the order of oppression is:

1. Black or brown
2. Men
3. Poor

They are trained to see civilians as the enemy and any resistance must be put down as quickly and as violently as possible. They have declared war on the people (most especially those with black skin) in their communities. The whole thing needs to be reexamined. We need to stop worrying about weed and decriminalize possession of all drugs; we need strict gun control laws so the excuse of police fear of an armed populace is gone; and we need to train police to work within their communities, including foot cops and cops without guns. Why are they roughing up people on the street who are not engaging anyone with a fucking gun?? How does most of the civilized world handle it??

2. this is institutional behavior, not rogue cops unlucky to be exposed

Let me explain my reasoning, although it is pretty obvious-
City of Fresno police officers were shooting and killing people of color regularly.
Brandishing a cell phone, things like that.
They even executed a guy who had shot a policeman when he wasnt about to flee the circle of force
surrounding him after a full scale manhunt.

now maybe some folks think this is due process, and would never impact their lives.
I wouldnt call that thinking.

Here is how they finally slowed the spree down-
The Chief of Police Jerry Dyer threatened to fire the next cop who shot someone.
that is all it took, and it was necessary because the heat from victim's advocates was
becoming unbearable. It is not because they suddenly saw the light of the 14th Amendment.
That piece of paper, and that clause LITERALLY draws a laugh from these serve and protectors, these "accredited"
members of a department that called Fresno an All American City.

Now, it isnt as if this threat to fire was broadcast on the news, of course not.
I ended up in a plane seat next to an officer's father who brought it up himself.

One of the saddest mistakes people make is laying blame on employees.
Much like thinking some broadcast anchor or "reporter" is a loose cannon or independant decision maker.
These policies, those actions of misrepresenting "news" and selling falsehoods to promote unlawful military
actions, are company policies, and for every clueless misperception promulgated, they succeed.

Let us not blame the officers alone, simply because the video footage doesnt inform us directly about the command directives,
their training and interpersonal influences.
With all the drug dealing cops being busted in Fresno alone, it is obvious the force is lawless and under the influence of drugs and money.

Sadly, there is NO REASON to expect these enforcers of our police state to seek or receive reform.
They are just doing their jobs.

how many of the black men in prison were victims of these kind of criminal cops and didn't have a video for defense?
Probably only one in a hundred would have video.
No wonder our jails are overcrowded and millions of kids have to grow up without fathers.

Like the men declared innocent in Guantanamo who are never released our jails must be filled with innocent victims.
There is something seriously wrong with our country.

Im afraid the people who need to be locked inside jail the most
are the ones who send them there with malice aforethought.
Given enough money, many citizens can avoid that.
I trust cops more than I would ever trust a lawyer.

EXACTLY! This is why body cameras MUST become mandatory. Without video, prosecutors are stuck right in the middle of a 'swearing contest', with little or no evidence to support either side's version of events.

Whenever we see one of these vids where there are multiple cops on the scene, none of them do anything whatsoever to protect the victims. Sometimes they stand by and do nothing, but most of the time, they join in the fun themselves. A good cop, when seeing a colleague commit a crime, would arrest the criminal cop on the spot - but we never, ever see that, do we?

They are basically aggressive psychopaths at this point. Just watch any episode of COPS. They do this thing for a living, and you can see weekly takedowns by cops of fully compliant people. It's disgusting.

I would argue at least 10% (probably more) of the force needs to be fired, outright.

That have spoiled the barrel. These cops aren't the few bad apples, they are a small part the spoiled barrel.

Those bad apples were gone long ago and now we're left with barrels of bad apples to deal with.

At this point, the notion that an internal affairs department can or will handle these problems is moronic.

And the Internal Investigators need to all be fired for lying. Looks like the DOJ needs to send someone there to investigate.

Maybe that is the first thing. Maybe all Internal Investigation units in every police department need to be cleaned out and replaced with people who aren't 100% corrupt. Then when police know someone is actually looking, they won't try this shit.
