Don't protest DNC city Charlotte. Mecklenburg County voted AGAINST the marriage amendment.

Charlotte is in Mecklenburg County. Meck County has been a solid blue in this state since 2004. It hasn't been easy, but, we did it.

Those demanding NC be punished by pulling the convention are calling for an attack on one of the most important areas trying to lead the south out of its backwards thinking - and, we've had to do so right in Bill Graham's backyard.

Support Charlotte - we will eventually win this fight in NC.

We wouldn't cancel a convention in San Francisco, which voted 75% against proposition 8, because California voted for it.

the Democratic Convention was scheduled to be held in (blue) Phoenix, I'd be thrilled if the DNC dissed the bigot bullies of my state by moving the convention from Phoenix to Seattle. Even if it cost me substantial personal profit.

Honestly, I'd be thrilled. Overjoyed. Ecstatic. I'd even probably campaign for Obama. Proud that my party grew a spine and took a stand, and sent this blunt message to bigots and bullies everywhere:

"We, the Democratic Party, have zero tolerance for bigotry of any kind, anywhere, anytime."

But of course, I'm LGBT, so I guess I'm probably a bit more invested than most here. Probably more bitter and insulted about my rights being denied than many folks who may empathize with me, *but*, since they have all their rights, they don't really feel the pain, hurt, abuse, disgust, and outrage like we LGBT folks do.
