I do appreciate that you do the links to make it easier to find the toons - thank you! And thanks to n2doc for always posting the toons - it's one of my favorite things on DU!

Abbott is a hateful, manipulative, piece of cow chip! Not as stupid as Perry, but every bit as hateful and more devious than Perry. They have their base so angry that they have to feed them constantly with crap like this, or agree with all of their looneyist conspiracy theories.
Since Texas, Alabama, Kansas and others have been red so long, you can show what life under Republicans looks like. Cronyism, higher percentage of poverty, big cuts in education, highest teen birth rates and uninsured, no job security, dangerous working conditions, highest in low paying jobs, and worst financial shape to name a few. I am sure I left out many others that can be pointed out by others here at DU!
I am volunteering to register as many voters as I can, it will be the only way to defeat these crooked assholes!

... which brings up the subject of indoctrinating/harassing their kids to think, do and vote as mom and or at least dad and grandpa do. But you got it!

This movie really hit a chord with me when I first watched it. Human Nature - Charlie Kaufmann film with Tim Robbins and Patricia Arquette http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0219822/reviews

"We used to be in touch with nature when we were first born, but after being indoctrinated into societal culture and behavior, we lost our nature. This dehumanization of our essence is essentially what we hold to be human, as ironic as that is. Man is a rational animal as Aristotle said. Would we be rational if weren't taught to be? Are we at all times rational in this civilized society? Aren't people still fighting over trivial things? Are we any smarter now than we were two thousand years ago? Although not explicitly in the movie, these sorts of thoughts is what the movie is essentially bringing up."

I had the misfortune to know many Texas Re-pubic-cons...The current lunacy goes back a long way...back then, young folks knew they were under educated and didn't give a shit...facts, including scientifically proven facts, didn't mean anything to them...concrete brains...all mixed up and permanently set...
