A good old Arkansas boy won a bass boat in a raffle drawing.
He brought it home and his wife looks at him and says, "What you gonna do with that?! There ain't no water deep enough to float a boat within 100 miles of here."
He says, "I won it and I'm a-gonna keep it."
His brother came over to visit several days later. He sees the wife and asks where his brother is.
She says, "He's out there in his bass boat", pointing to the field behind the house.
The brother heads out behind the house and sees his brother in the middle of a big field sitting in a bass boat with a fishing rod in his hand.
He yells out to him, "What are you doin'?"
His brother replies, "I'm fishin'. What does it look like I'm a doin'?"
His brother yells, "It's people like you that give people from Arkansas a bad name, makin' everybody think we're stupid. If I could swim, I'd come out there and give you a good
whopping!"
Just for a laugh is why I posted this, ok

(19,460 posts)But we have more lakes than Arkansas. The old joke around here is that you can live anywhere in Kentucky and not be more than an hour from a lake.

(51,076 posts)My favorite fishing and camping lake is Chimney rock lake. A GRDA pumped storage lake of about 750 acres surface area above lake Hudson between Locust Grove and Salina. The water is pretty clear and its very deep. Lots of 140 ft plus with one spot near the earthen dam that goes to 185 ft. No gasoline engines are allowed which makes for some peaceful outings.

(19,460 posts)I go to Norman twice a year to pick up my grand daughter for the summer and return her before school starts. Visit family in Norman and Moore. I can not believe how both of those cities have grown. I grew up in Edmond and I don't recognize it any more.

Except for myself (67 yo) and my oldest sis,(84yo) all my 8 siblings like in LG and we all spend a lot of time together. I'm heading to help one of my brothers fix his lawn mower here in a minute or two.
I love my Sisters and Brothers.
When our parents passed on we opted to keep our home place. 17.5 acres of HOME. We own it all the way to the center of the world too.
Off to my brothers now.
Peace and have a wonderful day
