TPP: How Obama is like Bush. It's payback time!
In George W Bush's second term, he expended enormous political capital pushing for the privitization of Social Security, something he had never campaigned on, something the public mostly did not want, something that even his fellow Republicans in Congress couldn't fully get behind, but something that would have been welcomed by his big business benefactors on Wall Street.
Now in his second term, Obama is expending enormous political capital pushing for the TPP, something he had never campaigned on, something the public mostly does not want, something that even his fellow Democrats in Congress can't fully get behind, but something that would be welcomed by his own big business benefactors.
Is the second term supposed to be payback time?
Luckily, Bush failed at his attempt. We'll see about TPP...
