Our entire system was designed around protecting the owners of wealth and capital at the expense of the majority. There has never been a time in our history where that has not been true. It remains a carefully balanced system of oppressions, which we can clearly see reflected in recent events like Baltimore.

We need a new system entirely, not reform. It's great to achieve what we can in government now (eg legal protections for lgbt, the ERA, etc.), but we need to do so in a manner the recognizes the eventual need for total social, economic, and political change. A revolution, if you will.
