Swedish supreme court decision on the Assange case

pdf (Swedish)

Some details (my summary):

The court notes that the charges include rape and finds a strong public interest in investigation of the matter

JA told the Swedish court that his time in the embassy should be regarded as disproportionate deprivation of liberty, considering the charges he might face. The court did not regard this as relevant

JA argues that if he surrenders to Sweden, he might be extradited to the United States. The court notes that a person surrendered pursuant to a European arrest warrant cannot be extradited to a third country without the consent of the competent authority of the Member State which surrendered the person; that therefore his extradition from Sweden to the USA would require, in addition to examination under Swedish law, consent from the UK; and that (in any case) no request from the United States has been made to Sweden

The court holds the view that there is a risk that he will abscond or in some otherwise evade prosecution or punishment
