So yesterday the Democrats blocked the fast tracking of the trade

deal, only to have enough of those same democrats to say their concerns have been satisfied to vote for fast track today

Yesterday day the media spent most of yesterday afternoon telling us what a defeat for the president it was. What is the media going to tell us today?

In fairness, I suspect those who were always against fast tracking were still today. The other democrats, not so much, except good ole Sherrod Brown had no problem with the compromise. Sounds like he is being "political". I wonder if that is a sexist statement?

The argument that they are ok with fast tracking since certain safe guards have been put in, flies counter to the argument that the TPP hasn't been made available for review

Why does the deal need to be fast tracked? It has already been 5 years in the making, why not go through the normal legislative 2/3 vote process?

because a republican should never have to take the blame for fucking this country and it's people. The republicans get what they want the democrats get the blame both parties are happy and then the next cycle begins all over again. The rich get richer and everybody else gets stomped down more.

for saying nothing will think about them.

I saw the home page of DU yesterday and just kept on going. I am so fucking sick and tired of the division. I don't know what to make of the TPP yet but this whole thing is just bewildering.

Obama has not done anything to make me think that he is going to do anything to jeopardize American workers but many smart people I know are opposed to the TPP (and TRULY I could not be talking about ANY of the braying heads on DU opposed to the TPP any less who have absolutely no impact on my beliefs and if anything, tend to make me automatically take the opposite stance to theirs on any and every issue) so I am very much on the fence about this issue.

And the fact that this board was blanketed with high fives and "we did it!!!" and "Thanks everybody but Obama!1one" and not even 24 hours later the damn thing progresses anyway just makes it all even more confusing to me except for one crystal clear fact -- a lot of people at DU seem to know absolutely nothing about politics.
