Gov. Jeb Bush hates the affordable care act so much, hed rather use the health apps on the apple Watch instead.
I think we should repeal Obamacare, Bush said to a clapping crowd at Arizonas Four Peaks Brewery. Then he pointed to his apple Watch. On this device in five years will be applications that will allow me to manage my healthcare in ways that, five years ago, were not even possible.
Bush went on to describe how he believes that, in five years, his Apple Watch will be able to alert him when hes eaten too many butterscotch sundaes, as a diabetes management tool.
<snip>
No word on whether Bush realizes that suggesting someone replace health insurance with an overpriced, overhyped fitness band is the dumbest fucking idea anyones ever had.

(53,235 posts)I won't turn 65 for Medicare until some time after Obama leaves office.
Do I buy the expensive guaranteed insurance or risk Obamacare and 2017 Republican sabotage? I'm in Mass. but we now have a freakin' GOP governor.
What to do?
pnwmom
(108,973 posts)we still have Obamacare. But once you give up COBRA benefits, you can't get them back.
Also, COBRA has a time-limit, too. I think it is 18 months.
You're probably pretty safe in MA since it was a Republican governor that signed "Romneycare," which became the model for Obamacare.

As far as Obamacare goes, I feel safe while Obama is in office. However, now that we have a Republican governor who's "neutral" on Obamacare, he may do whatever his party votes to do--and abolish affordable healthcare in Mass.

(25,406 posts)for the Obamacare plan, I would say take the Obamacare. Whatever the Republicans do, I don't think you would end up being worse off in the Obamacare plan compared to the other one. You also might want to look at non-Obamacare plans sold directly by the insurers off the exchange, especially if you are not subsidy-eligible. But make sure to check the networks.

Now it's a race between Bush and Carson over who swallows his shoes first.

(53,235 posts)Just look at our fuckin' Congress.

(9,753 posts)Anything that maximizes the Republican candidate's negatives is just fine. I also like the fact that they're doing the work themselves, at no cost to the Democratic Party.

(53,235 posts)such a sucky Congress.

Repeal and replace...with an overpriced fitness band.
