Looks like Marco Rubio has some 'splaining to do...

During his tenure in the Florida state House, he used his own home as a “political base” and racked up $85,000 in “operating costs” and another $65,000 on “administrative” costs. He hired his own wife as a “treasurer”, who billed $5,700 for “food and gas” on her own. Rubio somehow felt it was appropriate to charge $1500 at Walt Disney World and $412 at a music equipment store.

On top of all that blatant misuse of Party funds, “Rubio failed to disclose $34,000 in expenses — including $7,000 he paid himself — for one of the committees as required by state law,’ the St. Petersburg Times reported in 2010. He also hired relatives, paying them nearly $14,000 in ‘courier fees,’ and billed more than $51,000 in unitemized ‘travel expenses’ for himself, the Times — now known as the Tampa Bay Times — said.”

Hmm, never.

The thing is if someone does this blatant thievery, putting aside the thievery, how can that person be a good anything if they are that dumb?

It's just exercising an entitlement.

His supporters know it was all a made-up story put out by the Jeb people (or whoever is on their current shitlist). It won't faze them; the only people who will pay any attention were never in his camp anyway.

Even with all that the Repugs couldn't get in line fast enough to elect him. Although when you've got a Governor who is party to the largest Medicare Fraud in history, I suppose he fits right in.

These are just two I could remember off the top of my head and find information about - there have been more!

James Greer (born June 8, 1962) is an American politician and businessman, serving from 2006 to 2010 as the Chairman of the Republican Party of Florida. Previously, Greer served as Deputy Mayor of Oviedo, Fla., worked as a lobbyist in Tallahassee for the restaurant and hotel industry and was President/CEO from 1984 to 2007 of a Nationwide company called Regulatory Compliance Services Inc. Greer also served as a member of the Republican National Committee and Chairman of the RNC standing committee on rules. His community service includes serving as President of the Rotary Club and as a board member the Chamber of Commerce.[1]

Closely associated with Florida Governor Charlie Crist, Greer resigned from his office as Chairman and other positions within the state party following a number of controversies involving party finances and spending behavior by state elected officials.[2] Greer was arrested on June 2, 2010 after being indicted on six felony charges: organized scheme to defraud, money laundering, and four counts of grand theft [3] Prosecutors alleged that Greer, while chair of the Florida GOP, schemed to take money, over $100,000 from the party through a fundraising company he created, Victory Strategies LLC,.[3] The Orlando Sentinel further noted that, "The contract for Victory Strategies to take over major donor fundraising was withheld from top GOP finance officials." While much evidence supported Greer's claim that Governor Crist and other top party and political leader's had known of his fundraising contract, Greer choose to end the trial and surprised many by pleading guilty in 2013. By pleading guilty to the charges Greer saved the Republican Party and many top political leaders the embarrassment of a trial.

In April 2010, the party began investigating $1.3 million in questionable expenses incurred by a former party staffer, Melanie Phister. From 2006 to 2009, the party gave her an American Express credit card on which she charged the expenses for herself and her colleagues. The expenses included: $40,000 at a London, England hotel; $20,000 for plane tickets for indicted former Florida House Speaker Ray Sansom, his wife and children; $19,000 for the Water Club restaurant in New York; $15,000 for a one-month’s stay at a Miami Beach hotel, and, $66,000 for chartered flights. The Republican Party of Florida has hired the accounting firm Alston + Bird LLP to investigate the party's finances, including the questionable credit card expenses.

Oh - another one - Ray Sansom, former Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives:
In April 2009, a grand jury indicted Samson, Bob Richburg, former president of Northwest Florida State College, and Jay Odom, businessman and a major GOP contributor. They were charged with official misconduct, a third-degree felony which could result in a five year prison sentence. A circuit judge dismissed most of the charges in October and an appellate court reaffirmed the judge's ruling on the last day of 2009.[15]

On January 6, 2010, the Leon County State Attorney Willie Meggs charged the trio with grand theft and conspiracy. When asked why those charges weren't filed initially, Meggs stated that he thought the original charges and penalty were appropriate. "You can kill a fly with a fly swat, or you can kill one with a sledgehammer."[15] When the judge gutted the first case, Meggs refused to drop it. "I cannot in my mind as a prosecutor put a pretty face on this. It's just not right."

Later Meggs was himself indicted for "unethical behavior" and eventually the charges against Sansom were dropped. Meggs' charges were eventually dropped and he was the state attorney in charge of the Jameis Winston rape case (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/ncaaf/2014/04/23/state-attorney-reflects-on-winston-case-saying-it-was-ugly/8071975/).

He's abandoning his Senate seat for a quixotic Presidential campaign. Why? To become the perennial Hispanic Republican Presidential candidate. He'll run forever, never win, and live fat off the donations.
