Google Inc's Gmail was blocked in China after months of disruptions to the world's biggest email service, with an anti-censorship advocate suggesting the Great Firewall was to blame.
Large numbers of Gmail Web addresses were cut off in China on Friday, said GreatFire.org, a China-based freedom of speech advocacy group. Users said the service was still down on Monday.
"I think the government is just trying to further eliminate Google's presence in China and even weaken its market overseas," said a member of GreatFire.org, who uses a pseudonym.

After Google was thrown out of China for not becoming there puppet, there is an indication they remain under constant cyber-attack by The People's Liberation Army of China, according to this FBI report:

Instead of ruining their reputation overseas, I think the National Security Agency should be protecting the world's largest search engine from cyber-attacks
As usual NSA "puppets" of The People's Republic of China will allow China to bury this post with no recommendations; so this Opening Post will not make the Greatest Page; but, like all my online reports, Google will make them obvious when you search for several types of reports on ways China attacks Google.
This link is interesting to Google. Try seeking "ATTACK SATELLITE STRATEGIES" to see if this information appears

(15,235 posts)I wonder how many major search engines and computers in the USA NSA agents will allow China to control. Maybe the NSA will lock your email account.

(14,255 posts)read them if they ever want to. Email is really just a handy way for the NSA and law enforcement to keep tabs on you.

(15,235 posts)In my case Chinese satellite teams used my computer to create alleged code from one satellite agency to another, which attracted the NSA to monitor my computer. Then, a Chinese satellite team locked my email to prove the NSA would not protect the computers of US citizens from enemies. It's all a big Chinese propaganda ploy. The NSA certainly would not block ANY kind of email from the FBI, even routine updates on cyber-crime they send to police officers and the public. Last night I was angry at the NSA for allowing China to keep my email blocked with hackers, who work directly for their government or satellites. Be sure and read the link at the bottom of the Opening Post.

(22,000 posts)and the internet censorship was awful. I've spent over a decade in Asia (most of the time in South Korea) and visited numerous countries and China by far was the worse in terms of censorship.
