I don't know if that's the case in Flint. But it strikes me as ironic, that this is defended as "free speech" (it is, but ...); while at the same time, many municipalities have ordinances against people growing vegetables in their front yard.

Or, more widely applied - I'm not allowed to exercise "free speech" by letting my grass grow taller than 6 inches.

There's another source, so I have no reason to question the story, and it may well be that on this occasion the Mail has gotten it right.

But that's a rare enough occasion that I (and several other UK DUers) try to tag posts citing it with warnings like these - in general, if you have reliable corroboration, a link to the mail won't add anything to your story, and if you don't, you shouldn't be citing it. It's a far-right red-top tabloid of the worst sort.
