BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. Mitt Romney returned from a three-week spring break in 1965 to resume his studies as a high school senior at the prestigious Cranbrook School. Back on the handsome campus, studded with Tudor brick buildings and manicured fields, he spotted something he thought did not belong at a school where the boys wore ties and carried briefcases. John Lauber, a soft-spoken new student one year behind Romney, was perpetually teased for his nonconformity and presumed homosexuality. Now he was walking around the all-boys school with bleached-blond hair that draped over one eye, and Romney wasnt having it.
He cant look like that. Thats wrong. Just look at him! an incensed Romney told Matthew Friedemann, his close friend in the Stevens Hall dorm, according to Friedemanns recollection. Mitt, the teenaged son of Michigan Gov. George Romney, kept complaining about Laubers look, Friedemann recalled.
A few days later, Friedemann entered Stevens Hall off the schools collegiate quad to find Romney marching out of his own room ahead of a prep school posse shouting about their plan to cut Laubers hair. Friedemann followed them to a nearby room where they came upon Lauber, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors.

(26,355 posts)It's not in his programming.
The Republican candidate for POTUS is a sociopath. Seems to be a requirement for them as of late. He's just more obvious about it.

(21,078 posts)on this particular disgusting action. Mitt is not a nice man is correct. There's something very dark about him that is being kept hidden. We all have a right to know and the people that needs to see/read this won't be able to for various reasons. It needs to make a news cycle.

(28,979 posts)Just sick to target people like that. This speaks volumes about R's character. The Sunday school boy shows his true colors! This is why I don't trust those who tell me they are good Christians. I prefer to judge for myself.

(6,660 posts)I don't give a fuck how young he may have been - that is so evil and sickening. What little if any respect I had for the man is completely gone. What an asshole!

(15,220 posts)Romney likes to push around those living things that are not as strong as he is. Yes, he's a bully. And there's a trend surfacing here.
First the story about Seamus, and now the story about Lauber. Who knows what else this man has done and whether or not the victims can or would speak up.
This type of behavior is sick, and it is up to us to make certain that Obama remains President of the United States. We do not need a sicko, rich, turd-faced idiot like Romney in charge of this country.

(16,230 posts)This is not surprising in the least.
I've never understood people who are so obsessively concerned with whether or not those around them are conforming. I understand even less when someone uses physical force to attempt to force conformity.

(21,475 posts)They DICTATE how it is going to be and FORCE those who happen to disagree into subserviance.... They don't want to find a consensus with others or compromise in any manner.. They want to DICTATE and because America is a fairly ignorant country as a whole they just might get their way..
